Our Kennels

We have twelve self contained kennels comprising eight 5’ x 7’ size kennels, and four larger sized kennels, 7’ x 7’ for extra large dogs or family of dogs. Each kennel provides a light, well ventilated and spacious heated sleeping area. The building has concrete floors, with under floor heating that allows the dogs to choose a warm or cool spot to relax at any time of the day or night. Each kennel is fitted with a doggy door giving access between the kennel and the run area.

BY LIMITING THE NUMBER OF KENNELS TO 12, WE ENSURE THAT EVERY DOG CAN GET THE INDIVIDUAL CARE, ATTENTION & COMPANION TIME THAT THEY DESERVE.

Play Areas

All kennels have a 20-foot exclusive run, which in turn have access to one of six play areas. Here dogs can relax, play and look onto the surrounding land which is all treed and surrounded by crown land and mountain views. The runs have been specifically orientated not to face each other – research has proven that this can be the prime cause of stress in many boarding situations.

To provide shelter and protection from the elements, the roof of the building has been extended 6 feet over a concrete floor pad. This roof extension provides rain and snow cover in the winter, and a shaded area for relaxation on the cooler concrete pad in the summer months. The remaining 14 feet of runs are laid to grass. To ensure the safety of the dogs in our care, the walls in the runs and play areas are made of 10ft chain link fencing, with 8ft above ground and 2ft buried below ground. The 6 large play areas are fitted out with agility courses, sand pits and paddling pools to cool off in the summer months.

Safety & Security

The security and safety of dogs that stay with us is of paramount importance. At Picture Valley Dog Boarding, we have security cameras and smoke detectors monitoring the site 24 hours per day. With on site residential accommodation, there are also staff on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.

The staff at Picture Valley are trained in Pet First Aid (DOGSAFE Canine First Aid) and will always assess all medical situations first and will then seek further vet attention if necessary. Dogsafe is the premier provider of canine first aid and safety education for dog lovers and dog professionals across the world. Food & Nutrition

We stock, and can provide, the highest quality dog food for an additional cost. However, to prevent stomach upsets and distress we do suggest maintaining the dog’s food and feeding regime, and as such will store and serve owner provided food for the duration of the dogs stay. We will administer medication and/or food supplement in accordance with the owner’s instructions. We can also accommodate raw food feedings should it be required.

At Picture Valley Dog Boarding we can provide everything the dog will require during their stay from beds to toys to feeding bowls, but we do encourage owners to bring as much from home as possible to help the dogs settle in.

Items such as beds, bedding, toys (all preferably unwashed) and any other items that smell of home – there is plenty of room and it really does help them get acquainted to their new environment
